About The Author

My name is Lillian B. Kelle. I am an author and survivor of CSA (Child Sexual Abuse). I need your help to accomplish a feat that, for some, may seem impossible, but nothing great was ever achieved by anyone who wasn’t doubted at a certain point.

Although I have lived in the United States for 25 years, I was born and raised in the East African nation of Uganda. I grew up in the capital city, Kampala, to affluent parents in a wealthy home with loads of domestic staff and security. My parents did everything to protect their children, but little did they know that danger was already within their walls.

In Africa, when a person is the most successful in their family, they tend to take care of everybody else, including their extended family, and as a result, we lived with a lot of cousins, uncles, aunts, and their spouses.

When I was seven years old, one of the uncles started sexually touching me. First, when he was helping me with my homework, and then it progressed to him sneaking into the bedroom I shared with my brother in the middle of the night under the cover of darkness. The abuse lasted for four years, and in all that time, I didn’t have the words or the courage to tell anybody about it. In most African homes, the topic of sex is taboo. We don’t talk about it. The guilt and shame I felt from not understanding what was happening to me, and lacking the language to describe it, haunted me for 30 years. That is how long it took me to tell my parents about my abuse. It is also at this point that I decided to make sure no other child would suffer again the way I did! I was tired of the pain, and so I asked God to turn it into a purpose, and that led me to write a children’s book called “The Bad Touch.” The first of its kind in Uganda. I wrote it with pictures and in child-friendly language to teach children as young as three years old about inappropriate touching, sexually related touching, how to avoid it, and what to do if it happens. When I traveled to Uganda to launch it, it was well-received and became a best seller.
